Why Us?

At Atikan we pride ourselves on being truly ethical, passionate breeders with the love of our dogs being at the heart of everything we do. Our main goal is to produce healthy, happy puppies and make the experience of adding a new puppy to your family as stress free and enjoyable from start to finish and for us our job doesn't finish when a puppy leaves us; we are here for them and for you for life & are only ever a phone call away.

All of our dogs live in our home and are our much-loved pets first and foremost, always. We have 10 acres of our own private land & our dogs spend most of their days running through the rushes in the fields, helping me out on the yard with the horses or lying in front of their infamous heater in the living room. They often come to horse shows with us, weekends away and their absolute favorite thing is joining us at local dog friendly restaurants for lunch/dinner where they of course steal the show every time. 

 

We also exhibit our dogs in the show ring. This is something we cannot afford a lot of time to due to our commitments competing our horses however despite that we have been very successful in our endeavors so far. All of our show team have earnt their Crufts 2025 qualifications in strong, competitive classes; the highlight being our homebred 'Atikan No Remorse' qualifying after placing 2nd in a puppy dog class of 10 - a testament to our breeding program.

Another highlight so was at Crufts 2024 when our bitch Meredith was placed 3rd in a class of 16 junior bitches - our first show dog, first Crufts and a fabulous achievement.

   

 Atikan puppies are raised in our living room and socialized appropriately and carefully throughout the time we have them, we keep them in a very clean, cosy environment and try our best to begin house training with them and prepare them for their new life with their new families. They are exposed to new noises & experiences through our indepth habituation program & so they always leave us as well adjusted, happy, confident puppies ready for their new adventures. They always have a home here for life too, if the circumstances of owners ever change, there is always a space on our sofa for them waiting. Our puppies are always:

-  Microchipped, Vaccinated & Vet Checked 

-  Very well socialised with Cats, Dogs, Children, Noises etc 

-  Large personalised puppy pack

-  A lifetime of support & Contract

We want lifetime homes for our puppies with families who are happy to keep in touch with us and reach out at any time, we have met so many friends through our puppies. We have a private Facebook group set up that we add all our puppy owners into so they can keep in touch with their siblings and chat about all things Puppy/Frenchie/Dachshund.

Once a deposit has been placed on a puppy we send regular updates and we encourage you to visit regularly to build a relationship with your puppy prior to picking them up.
